yuri55 I agree I lived in Alberta for many years and at that time they used sand instead of salt it worked well ( now they mix 25 % of it with salt) . I believe no province should be salting...It kills the cars and enviroment... People in the winter just have to learn to leave for work earlier and take it cool... I have never had a problem without the use of salt... and if you think Ontario uses a lot of salt? come out here in NS No kidding they salt out here when there is no snow on the ground and the roads are dry.. That is redonkulus... at least 90% of the cars here have studded witer tires on their cars... salting the roads that much and with all the salt in the air from the Ocean man oh man your car is like a rust bucket in 5 years...

    Pepper! You're in NS too!?!?
    I'm in Halifax!

And yeah, the salt is brutal. When I drive between Saint John and Halifax my car is usually white by the end of the drive.

Yes I am in Nova Scotia Cape Breton I hear ya man there is so much salt on the roads here it's like following a car on a gravel road I sh.. you not When you wake up in the mornings you can't tell if it snowed or not because the roads are so white.. I will have to take pictures of it some day I am seriously thinking of lobbying at the the City Hall just to get them to stop using so much salt... Like you said my truck has so much salt on it it actually looks frozen...
So Walex what are you driving and where do you get everything done...Do you have pic's

Do you turn off your ESP in the Summer? ( dry roads of course) I think sometimes my manual cuts to many corners and since they also include different types of SLK's in it hard to tell which option my SLK has and what was added later... For example my manual states all Mercedes built for Canada has the heated steering wheel as a standared option... Mine doesn't

not often because i don't find a need to turn it off, i turned it off once trying to do donuts but chickened out....

not sure about the heated steering wheel... when its cold/just started it, its very hard to turn, then it gets better....
