The buy in can be set according to whatever everyone is comfortable with. I can host one at my place, no noise complaints around here, even on late weeknights and smokers can smoke indoors the only problem is parking...I live downtown. So does anyone have any suggestions with the venue, day, time, buy in amount? No car keys though.

2GL used to have poker nights with his buddies, so maybe we can have it at my house? As long as it ain't too many people and I don't have SWAT bust in during our session.

Id say keep it low, just have it for fun, but with like 5 or 10 dollors just so people play a little seriously, but not so seriously so that noones talking.

My vote is for $5 tournaments, ~1500 in chips, 25/50 blinds doubling every 5mins. Usually get half a dozen tournaments into a night with Xbox/PS3 on hand for those that bust out early.
Used this formula for years with friends back in Melbourne and had lots of fun.

1 big table of 11 or 2 tables split
(i say 1 big table, so we can all socialize) but 11 ppl one table is gonna be .. lol + 1500, 25/50 blinds would not workf or 11 ppl on 1 table. especially when the blinds get really high.

Sorry guys, I missed out that night (10th year anniversary)....
We were suppose to have dinner with my parents Sat. late afternoon & then I was going to jet
& come over to play Poker, but my parents had a surprise party for me & my wife (over
40 guests).......I kinda thought about leaving, but I would of had my ass handed to me
by my wife......lol :shock:

Just a suggestion... you can get "poker organizer" to set it up at a gym or banquet hall. They'll set it up and take a % of the buy-in as long as a group/party can guarantee minimum number of buy-ins.
